Mint cd. Released by Intrada label in 2007. Contains the original score composed by Georges Delerue for John Huston’s 1968 movie. The cd presents the original score as it was used in the film for the first and only time. The other existing recording on cd (by DCM) is an re recording adaptation. Delerue was infamous for his great medieval music score for the oscar trioumph of A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, and Huston, who was notorious for his musical eclecticism, had no doubts collaborating with him for the score of his movie, the story of a peasant revolution in medieval France. Beautiful music by the composer, who utilizes medieval instrumentations blended with his own distinctive romantic style. The limited edition of 1500 copies sold out almost instantly upon release.
